Now in its third generation, Elmore Companies was built on the ability to recognize and pursue business opportunity. Dating back to the late 70’s, Dave Elmore started by purchasing travel companies that were headed toward bankruptcy, taking them over and building them up. This repetition became muscle memory as he began to understand an industry and acquire several more businesses within that space, starting the legacy of Elmore Companies.

As Dave’s conglomerate of businesses continued to grow, his son, DG Elmore took over Gant Travel at a critical juncture in the company’s history. After turning the business around and recognizing the need for leadership support, DG acknowledged that having an operator in place would allow him to scale his time and build a better portfolio of businesses. As he acquired more businesses, he hired new operators. DG saw operating a business a valuable and rewarding experience and wanted to make a difference in the world by providing that opportunity to others.

DG’s love for the solving complex problems in the world of small business was passed on to the next generation as his children brought even more intentionality to the concept of a family office. Lauren and Gant Elmore remain steadfast to the importance of good people to the success of the business model, yet have progressed what it means to support the transition and operations of new acquisitions. Elmore Companies moves toward the future with a purpose of building great companies, together – developing the internal infrastructure to grow its operating companies.
